Marcia Huyette is an accomplished graphic artist and professional cartoonist
whose editorial cartoons have been published in a number of newspapers. She has
also published a book of graphic illustrations and a remarkable line of seagull
greeting cards, filled with humor and good will.
Ms. Huyette has worked in newspaper production since the 1970’s, moving
steadily through the ranks to become production manager for a regional
publishing company based in Vermont and later for a newspaper group in
Massachusetts. Additionally, she owned and operated, with her former husband, a
successful graphic arts and sheet-fed printing company on Cape Cod. She also
developed the production department and for a number of years served as art
director for a high-end, glossy magazine publisher in Southeastern
Massachusetts. She is currently pursuing her own publishing ventures from her
studio on Cape Cod.
Marcia Huyette, who grew up in Davenport, Iowa, holds a BA in Art Education
from the University of Northern Iowa, but has lived and worked in New England
virtually all of her professional career. She has lived on Cape Cod for over
twenty years, where she raised her daughter, who is now a college student.
