It’s Obama’s Election To Lose!
He Needs To Wake Up Right Now!
Barack Obama had better wake up!
He was filled with powerful ideas and hard
commitments to progressive reform as he struggled to overpower the strongest
woman candidate ever to stand on the national stage. But now that she’s been
edged out, he’s falling all over himself, trying to be everything to everyone.
This is a Democratic year! It’s a Democratic
year just as 1932 was, and for very nearly the same reasons: After ten years of
Republican management of the nation, the country is heading into a Depression!’
Barack Obama must wake up!
This is not a year to simply offer counter
proposals to what the GOP asserts, it is a year to stand up to the viciousness
of the Republican Party as it has been configured for the past two decades. This
is a year to take pages out of Harry Truman’s playbook and call the Republicans
out!
George W. Bush and Richard Cheney are more than
simply disgraced and disgraceful American politicians; they are the very
embodiment of right-wing zealotry and Republican greed at all costs policies.
This Republican Party is not the party of Lincoln, or even of Taft, it is the
party of vicious, no holds barred grasping materialism cloaked in religious
finery. It is in fact the very same cosmetics on the pig that the nation saw
during the 1920’s, when the nation’s attention was diverted while the rich
looted the country. Even Warren Buffet, the billionaire of Berkshire Hathaway,
decided enough was enough this past week and admitted that America is in the
throes of class warfare, and that the war was begun by his class!
It is past time for Barack Obama to wake up!
This is not a time to be parrying and bandying
words with the standard bearer of the failed policies of the radical GOP. It is
time to directly attack the GOP for all its wanton excesses, for its inexcusable
twisting of the Constitution, for its attempt to undermine democratic
institutions and for its willingness to sell off or give away the national
parks, waterways and other treasures that make the nation unique.
It is time for Barack Obama to wake up and
realize this election is his for the taking, but only if he stands up to the GOP
and its sins and crimes. People everywhere know what has happened and there are
people willing to vote Democratic this year who have not done so before, or who
haven’t done so for years.
It is Barack Obama’s election to win, or lose,
and if he fails to realize this, the fate of the nation will be dark, because
that is what the GOP is, a dark force that needs to be met head-on!
