Is The US Treasury Being Looted By Political Design
In Order To Radically Change American Government?

Quite an amazing theory has begun to be discussed among grass roots Democrats regarding the real reasons behind the Republican’s current draining of the American treasury, and it's a concept that The Bradley Report believes needs a full airing; that theory is that the GOP is purposefully creating massive budget deficits as quickly as possible in order to crush major American social programs and regulatory agencies that serve the overall public interest – such as the Social Security Administration, HUD (Housing and Urban Development), EPA, the Environmental Protection Agency, etc., and change the way government has been conducted for the past sixty plus years.

The Bradley Report would like to hear from as many people as possible regarding this issue, and is prepared to provide a forum for such a discussion on its front page. This theory seeks to explain what has happened to the American treasury in a manner that seems to provide the first overall, plausible rationale – albeit a sinister one – to the amazing $700 billion plus reduction in American wealth that has occurred in just three years of the radical politics of George W. Bush and his administration.

According to this emerging theory, radical elements of the GOP now in power are attempting to place such an economic burden on the national government that there will be no choice but to curtail or minimize virtually all but the most vital expenditures, such as national defense and, internally, the police and court system, etc. Further, that this policy will assure a change in the American political climate by forcing the populace to forego higher public goals and aspirations in favor of simply surviving while bearing the burden of national debt. This would in effect be the purposeful creation of a Great Depression in order to roll back the clock on the so-called ‘big government’ the GOP has railed against since FDR led the country out of the morass left by Calvin Coolidge and Herbert Hoover.

At a public meeting recently held on Cape Cod, this theory was openly discussed and well received by the several hundred people present. One man opened the point by observing that "the Republicans are purposefully trying to bankrupt the country for political purposes," and the discussion moved from there; see related lead story, "Bush And The Radical GOP Apparently Don’t See/The Anger And Loathing Beneath The Political Surface."

Please don’t hesitate to make your views known, whether you agree, disagree, or are simply amazed at the possibility being articulated. Send your comments to Michael Bradley at this address: publisher@bradleyreport.net
